Cuando cae la tarde, el anciano narrador de la tribu se sienta rodeado de jóvenes en torno a la fogata. Su voz se vuelve muchas voces... son los ancestros que vuelven a hablar por su boca.
¿Han escuchado alguna vez la voz del hermano Búho? Su grito es una pregunta:  who? (¿ quién eres tú?) Porque el Búho no es un simple pájaro. El Búho es el guardián de LOS DOS MUNDOS.
El habita la noche y lo encuentran sobre todo en los cementerios. El Búho vela tanto el mundo de los Muertos como el mundo de los Vivos. Está para vigilar que no se mezclen porque la línea que los separa es más delgada que un cabello humano. Muchos que reposan quieren conversar con los que todavía caminan sobre la faz de la tierra y muchos que viven buscan a sus ancestros para aprender de ellos.
Pero no todos pueden cruzar la frontera. Deben ser dignos. Tener corazón puro y buenas intenciones .
El que los evalúa es el Búho. Por eso pregunta: who? Sólo el que de la respuesta correcta puede cruzar al otro mundo.
Los jóvenes preguntan: ¿cuál es la respuesta correcta? EL Chamán sonríe misteriosamente. Sólo él y unos pocos más saben la respuesta.
La mayoría teme el canto del Búho. Porque el poder de la vida y la muerte asusta al que no está preparado.
Y cuando el relato acaba, se oye a un Búho preguntar: who?
